“LET THIS WORLD BE A LITTLE BETTER PLACE BECAUSE WE CAME HERE”
Thank you for your interest in our life-changing project, Snehalaya, a proud initiative of the MILT Charitable Trust. Our guiding light, Aporesh Acharya, had been leading the MILT leadership program in India since 1977. Accredited Trainer Danny has taken over the training section and Milt as an organization is spreading its wingswith new chapters in UAE and USA
We proudly call the Alumni passing through the portals of Milt Leadership training as Miltonians. MILT Charitable Trust, Bengaluru is a registered forum of Miltonians. The concept of a home for destitute boys arose from the conviction that service to society is as important as one's quest for excellence. The first Snehalaya was born in the year 1991.
Snehalaya welcomes boys aged 6 years from economically weak families, most of whom are first-generation learners. In our care, these children are nurtured by trained house mothers and attend nearby English-medium School. The children are housed in a newly built beautiful home with a huge living room. The living room doubles as multi-activity room for the children. Snehalaya home is equipped with thestate-of-the-art Kitchen. The dormitories are well planned with sufficient light and ventilation. Office room and the wardens’ rooms are adjoining the dormitories for easy monitoring of the children. The toilet section has a good number of baths and toilets to accommodate the morning rush hour. The whole premisesis under CC TV surveillance.
Children are given well planned nutritious diet. The food chart for the whole month is prepared and adhered to. Activity charts for the kids are worked out keeping in mind the holistic development of the children. The extracurricular activities of the children include Physical exercise and games, yoga and dance. There are teachers engaged for each of these activities. We also have tuition teachers who help out the children with their homework and other study aspects. We also have a full-time counselor to advise and counsel the kids regarding short-term social and emotional problems.
Dedicated Miltonianshead various committees like Academics, Health, Food and Extra-curricular toensure the smooth functioning of the Snehalaya. These volunteers are successful professionals who passionately involve themselves in the project to give back to society.
We have been successfully running this home of love with thehelp of advisors who have more than 30 years of experience in running thisChild Care Institution. They are also continuously working on building new teams to carry on the work efficiently. Our passion and commitment to making this a good CCI haspaid off. We are JJ Act compliant with the management having a good relationship with the statutory authorities the DCPO, CWC, etc.
